Waitangi Tribunal urgent hearings

Representing claimants in Waitangi Tribunal urgent hearings.

The Waitangi Tribunal will inquire quickly into Crown conduct if the claimant can show that they will be prejudiced by whatever it is the Crown is doing. Maybe it’s some new legislation or Crown policy that is coming up, or the Crown has failed to look after something of value such as childcare, waterways, land interests, te reo Māori or the seabed. The Tribunal cannot make the Crown stop what it is doing but it can recommend that the Crown change its ways.

Tāmaki Legal has represented claimants and interested parties in numerous urgent hearing applications. Legal aid is usually available.
